BIM to CAD: Integrated Delivery of Bridge Projects in 2D and 3D
Information
Allplan, together with Roads & Bridges magazine, presents this informative webinar, in which we discuss an integrated CAD and BIM approach to project delivery, which allows engineers to work in a 2D CAD environment to deliver both 3D BIM models and high-quality 2D deliverables from the same workflow. After this webinar, you will understand how to manage rebar detailing, conflict detection, quantities and geometry reporting, directly from a BIM model in one workflow!
One of the barriers to effective BIM implementation for bridge design is a fragmented workflow. For many projects, engineers create separate bridge models (geometric, structural, analytical) and devise 2D representations of rebar detailing, quantities and geometry reporting. Information stored in different models and formats creates an increased risk of errors and inconsistencies whenever a model is updated.
This drastically increases the risk of discrepancies and re-work, while quickly eroding design budgets. In some cases, the errors are not detected until the project is on-site, resulting in time delays end cost overruns.
In this webinar we discuss an integrated CAD and BIM approach to project delivery, which allows engineers to work in a 2D CAD environment to deliver both 3D BIM models and high-quality 2D deliverables from the same workflow.
